Six timezones, one schedule that suits you
Canada stretches from Newfoundland time in the east to Pacific time in British Columbia. Saskatchewan stays on Central Standard Time all year. Tell us your province and city when you book and we suggest lesson times in your own local time.
Long winters, consistent routines
In the Canadian winter, after-school activities often move indoors and evenings get dark early. Many families find that a regular early-evening lesson at home is easier to keep than travelling to a class, especially in snowy weather.
French and English
In Quebec and other French-speaking communities, children may be more comfortable in French or English. Tell us which language the learner is most comfortable being taught in and we will tell you honestly what is available before the trial.
After school and weekends
Most Canadian families choose lessons between about 4pm and 7pm on weekdays, or Saturday and Sunday mornings.
Accountability
Every lesson is one-to-one, delivered through our MAKTAB learning platform, supervised and recorded. Parents of children receive a monthly PDF progress report.

Watch
Quran Reading
Noorani Qaida with Tajweed, Lesson 1: The Single Letters (Mufradat), Part A
The first video in our Noorani Qaida series. It introduces the single Arabic letters (Mufradat) one at a time, the very first step towards reading the Quran, and gives parents and beginners a clear feel for how our teachers explain each stage before you book a free trial. Parents can watch it with their child to see what the very first stage of reading looks like and how letters are introduced one by one. In live lessons the same first stage is taught one-to-one, with the teacher listening to the learner and correcting pronunciation straight away, so mistakes do not become habits. When the single letters are secure, learners move on to joined letters, vowel marks and, in time, fluent Quran reading.
FAQs
Frequently asked questions
Do you schedule in Canadian time zones?
Yes. We book lessons in your own provincial timezone, whether Eastern, Pacific or anywhere between.
Can adults in Canada learn too?
Yes. Adults can book private lessons at times that fit around work, including complete beginners.
Does Saskatchewan's timezone cause problems?
No. Saskatchewan does not change its clocks, and we book lessons in your local time, so they stay at the same time all year.
