Lessons across four US timezones
The United States spans Eastern, Central, Mountain and Pacific time, plus Alaska and Hawaii. A family in New York and a family in California may want the same after-school slot but at very different times of day. When you book the trial, tell us your city or state and we suggest times in your own timezone.
Daylight saving and Arizona
Most of the US moves its clocks in March and November, but Arizona (outside the Navajo Nation) and Hawaii do not. Lessons are always booked in your local time, so your child keeps the same time on their own clock.
Fitting around the American school day
Most US families choose weekday lessons between about 4pm and 7pm, after school and before dinner, or weekend mornings. Short lessons several times a week often work better for younger children than one long weekend session, especially alongside sports and homework.
Weekend school and one-to-one lessons
Many children in the US attend Sunday school at a local masjid. One-to-one lessons can work alongside it, giving the child individual reading practice and a teacher who listens to them alone.
What parents see

Watch
Quran Reading
Noorani Qaida with Tajweed, Lesson 1: The Single Letters (Mufradat), Part A
The first video in our Noorani Qaida series. It introduces the single Arabic letters (Mufradat) one at a time, the very first step towards reading the Quran, and gives parents and beginners a clear feel for how our teachers explain each stage before you book a free trial. Parents can watch it with their child to see what the very first stage of reading looks like and how letters are introduced one by one. In live lessons the same first stage is taught one-to-one, with the teacher listening to the learner and correcting pronunciation straight away, so mistakes do not become habits. When the single letters are secure, learners move on to joined letters, vowel marks and, in time, fluent Quran reading.
